Yup, one has a pax header and one doesn't. I made the archives on two different machines in two different versions of Mac OS X. The archive with the pax header was created with OS X 10.9 and the non-pax header archives created with OS X 10.10. Not sure if this is relevant or interesting but thought I'd mention it out of completeness. Thanks again! Ed
