Probably not any time soon, but you could always take your Tarsnap key file, encrypt it with your choice of cryptosystem, and make lots of copies (even to the point of making it public). Then you could store your short "key file decryption key" in a more convenient way. For that matter, if you protect your tarsnap key files with a strong passphrase, it becomes far less important to keep the passphrased key file secure.
