I put my oval in GDGD tuning over the Xmas holidays. I like the lower voice of GDGD better than AEAE. The first thing I did was pick out some holiday tunes by ear. Sweet. Even wrote a melody.
I've still got my oval in GDGD and I'm loving the possibilities. "Shove That Pig's Foot" sounds great as does almost every tune I try. I'm thinking I'll keep the oval in GDGD until I'm forced to play in a different key. ;) Anybody else exploring GDGD tuning?
