The Merry Blacksmith is a common fiddle tune around here, not so much at BG jams, but at Celtic sessions - I think it's Irish. My contra dance band uses it in a lively reel set with The Banshee and The Red Crow. It's one of the very few tunes they let me play guitar on!
For fun at home, it's one of the tunes I like to slow down a little and play as a swing on mando.
