Actually looking around youtube late at night it looks like several tater students are doing this. I'd be up for it - anything to focus the mind and create things to work towards. I would like to think about the face/mandolin dilemma though - does one point the camera only at the mandolin so people can see how clumsy you are, or do you stand back and get the inane facial expression too... ?
