They were not nominated in the Bluegrass category. Skaggs won that Grammy.
They did win 5 of them including Best Album. I happen to like it. Although it did take a few listens before I really grasped what they were doing. I really like the sparesness of it. Someone described it as sounding like the best garage band Rock 'n Roll they'd ever heard. I look forward to their next effort. Plant also thanked Stuart Duncan, Mike Seeger, Norman Blake and Riley Baugus when they won for Best Album. I thought that was classy! As for Skaggs, he's one helluva musician. The only problem is he knows it, acts like it, and wants the rest of the world to know just how good he is. Being a little more humble would probably go a long way in improving his image. And the preaching from stage......huge turn off for me. I wanna hear music, not a sermon. I own every cd he's put out since Bluegrass Rules and they get played all the time. But I wouldn't go out of my way to try and meet or talk to the man. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Taterbugmando" group.
