i take lessons face to face. his place is an hours drive from mine. i think
i would be at the beginners level in indian classical music. though i have
played for quite a while learning on my own by hearing stuff. (as a kid i
did take some basic lessons on scales and songs) if you notice his styles in
quite different from what we call mandolins style. so i am learning mostly
techniques. exercises. and scales. its quite difficult to adapt to it if u
play a different style. but i am sure trying to learn will add
a dimension to my style of playing. perhaps i will never be able to play
like him though.thats that.
