You know... it is interesting the left hand was mentioned... I just
got done watching this and I thought the same thing. From meeting
Tater in person last february and seeing the videos of he and Roland
standing next to each other it makes me curious how big a boy Roland
is. 5'1" or 2" he must have a small hand to match. This would put me
a foot + over Roland and my hands are pretty long to boot. I have had
several people ask me how I get around on that little guitar... I just
tell em I don't yet.
Last year I got the chance to go to the Mandolin symposium... I got
to see two very different hands in action. Mike Marshall's hands are
out of control huge and it is clear why he and the mandocello are such
a good fit. Then there was herschel Sizemore teeny-tiny hands, I have
never seen a pinky finger used more. Both got around real good to say
the least. After this experience I realized I had no excuses, dern it
all! Herschel made a comment on efficiency and how he figured out
long ago that he had to keep his self in different positions for
making a tune work due to the size of his hands.

the contribution from Texas....
