Okay, group hug for Chubby. Here we go.....uuuuuuhmmmm...now, ain't
that better? Here's my take on it, Skinny; I agree with you that there
are way too many people running around telling us all to be more PC.
I'm sick to death of Oprah Winfrey too.
It's obvious that you have your likes and dislikes, as it is obvious I
have mine. I see nothing wrong with that in the least. Let's just say
you have become in touch with your inner music critic and follow it
without question. What I get from the quote is that I should shut the
critic off sometimes(lord knows mine is active too) and at least give
the rest of the people on the planet a chance to be heard. There is
nothing there that says I have to like it or even identify with what I
hear.

Sadie is listening to a Cajun band right now, one of the more popular
ones, and I know that the man is great at what he does, even a guru to
some of the more visible oldtime players too. But, I don't speak Cajun
french and I don't get it, I can't identify with most of what he's
saying/playing, so I won't listen to it much. That doesn't mean that I
can't give him his due. I listen to Africans and Norwegians and
Orientals and Indians and rednecks. I have become more willing to
listen to new things because now and then I hear something that really
spins my head around and I want to learn more about what I'm hearing.
That's just me. There's nothing that says you have to listen to
anything outside of your own record collection or what rambles around
in your head if that suits you. You might be accused of being
antisocial and narrow-minded, but I don't think that that labels you
as homophobic.

Anyway, what other people think of you is none of your business unless
you make it so. Relax, you'll hurt yourself.
