Chef - agree with you on this one. Really cool tune. I really liked the first
time I heard Mike play it
and liked it even more when I found out the title - Old Tn. River. I spent a
lot of time on the Tn. river
growing up - maybe that's why I like it so much.

First time I remember hearing it was at Nash camp (in 2000 or 2001). Mike was
the mando instructor
and this is one of the tunes he played that week. Jimmy Campbell came by
during that week
and Mike and Jimmy did it together. I think I've got a recording made in the
class by one of the
guys. I'll try to find it. I've also got the Jimmy Campbell cd with the tune
on it.

Its a good'un...

Just heard this one and is going to be the new must learn.... Terry B
oes a fine job with it on the
ube. I had been unfamiliar with it until last week and am in pursuit
f the little rascal now. I mentioned to Tater in an email that the
ick off gets my heart rate goin to paraphrase.
The timing of the tremelo is so cool to me. The end of the kick is
lmost not in time, almost in time and haunting all at the same time.
a.
The stops are pretty fun too. One can really feel a story being
old. Not sure if I can post it on the file page been having trouble
oving it from place to place as a friend emailed it to me and it is
uirky process, let's leave it there.
It is on a Jimmy Campbell recording. I believe he has 2 recordings
ut.
