Chef - agree with you on this one. Really cool tune. I really liked the first time I heard Mike play it and liked it even more when I found out the title - Old Tn. River. I spent a lot of time on the Tn. river growing up - maybe that's why I like it so much.
First time I remember hearing it was at Nash camp (in 2000 or 2001). Mike was the mando instructor and this is one of the tunes he played that week. Jimmy Campbell came by during that week and Mike and Jimmy did it together. I think I've got a recording made in the class by one of the guys. I'll try to find it. I've also got the Jimmy Campbell cd with the tune on it. Its a good'un...
