Man, I've got it again and I need your'alls advice. I have a pretty new Weber Fern, really pretty, plays like a dream and sounds great but its got somewhat of a darker tone than i'm used to. Its chop is more of a "woof" than a "whack" I fell in love with the mandolin from day one, however.......
I recently played a Dearstone and this had a completely different tone, maybe it was the Adi top don't know but while the weber was probably louder the dearstone had way more midrange and the upper register highs would break fine china. So the question is, while I try to land my playing style on the tater side of things I feel the weber is a little dark. IF! I were to buy a 2nd mandolin what would be my choices for say $5k..... thanks John -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Taterbugmando" group.
