Well fellas I had a crazy good time monday night at our little show .... An open Mic at a local bar hosted by the bartender who hales from East Nashville, guitar player, singer songwriter feller who I hap-hazardly was connected to by a fellow employee who happened to go to this bar. The bartender kept playing bluegrass on the internet based juke box and she asked him about it blah blah blah, we got connected. We jammed and then this open mic was born kind of at the same time.
Now to the point... My newly formed group who is still definitely in it's baby stages named the "5 and Dime Bluegrass Band" played, well were there, however the guitar man couldn't make it and the banjo player out of town. So that left Bass(thank goodness) Mandolin and Fiddle. We did alright some difficulty getting in a good space for the mic and I'ma have to tighten the strap to get a bit more Monroe- ish so that rascal is close to the mic for a one mic bit. So our 45 minutes was up and a fella started in on his fingerstyle guitar stuff and got done, so Mark(a fellow taterbugger/fiddler) and I played for about 2 hours fiddle and Mandolin. I had such a blast that night it really took away a bunch of stress and gave a great vibe.... We got a bunch of compliments and I was so thrilled at how well it worked. A couple days before I saw the Michael Cleveland and Jesse Brock doing Jerusalem (f*&king) Ridge, as I refer to it as it has been a bear for me to learn. But it was just the two of them. I am heading back to the fires then Maryland so I'm outta here.... Chef -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Taterbugmando" group.
