What Bobby tunes does he sing? Some Bobby originals really have that
C and W, Marty Robbins type feel. I would love to hear this album. I
finally saw Jesse McReynlds live two years ago with his own band and
then together with Frank W and Bobby O (what a show!!) at Wind Gap.
On a side note, Furthur is playing great right now!

Yes I have that album being a reformed Dead Head I had to check it
out. Jesse sings "Jerry" good. Jerry vox are big shoes to fill in my
book. Jesse's playing surprised me in this context. It sounded very
natural and appropriate for the music. Like he's a closet jam head and
has been collecting "noodling" knowledge for decades. Some good 'Jer'
choices for covers Black Muddy River, Stella Blue, Loser
But Ripple should be left alone.....the original is too iconic.

Speaking of wide, wide musical tastes, I saw/heard the amazing Jesse
McReynolds last summer at Augusta. Apparently he and "friends" have
just
released an album of Grateful Dead songs. Has anyone heard it? The
song from
that repertory that he did last summer was lovely...
