I believe the format of our workflow is better described in an XSD
than a DTD. DTDs are not really used anymore by my experience, but
also XSD has became less popular as newer languages like Relax NG have
been positively received.

If we're going to maintain a schema of our workflow serialisation I
doubt we will do so in all three or more languages.


There are tools that attempt to do this conversion. A random Google
search gave me:

it looks quite old - but worth a try.
