Hi,

The Globus Alliance has been selected as a Google Summer of Code^TM
<http://code.google.com/soc/> 2009 mentoring organization.

We've submitted three Taverna/caGrid related proposals in it.
Basically it is about scientific workflow + Globus toolkit + service
oriented computing.
See http://dev.globus.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2009_Ideas

Please see the information below and contact the project mentors if
you feel interested in it.

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a program that offers student developers
stipends to write code for various open source projects. Google works
with several open source, free software, and technology-related groups
to identify and fund several projects over a three month period.
Historically, the program has brought together nearly 2,500 students
with over 180 open source projects to create millions of lines of code.
The program, which kicked off in 2005, is now in its fifth year.

If you are a student and would be interested in participating in GSoC
with Globus as your mentoring organization, please take a look at our
GSoC Ideas page
<http://dev.globus.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2009_Ideas>. This page
lists projects that Globus has proposed for GSoC, but it is not a closed
list. If you have an idea for a cool project that uses or extends Globus
technologies, please take a look at our list of Globus GSoC mentors
<http://dev.globus.org/wiki/Google_Summer_of_Code_2009_Ideas#Mentors>
and contact the one who most closely matches your interests. Take into
account that student proposals must be submitted by *April 3rd* through
the GSoC web application <http://socghop.appspot.com/>.

If you have any questions about our participation in GSoC, please
contact the Globus GSoC administrators <mailto:[email protected]>.

   Best regards,

Wei
