Hi,

We created a Taverna plugin and JAVA API which allows for the creation of WS to
use gLite. Basically the plugin and API do two things:

1. With the plugin you delegate your credentials (certificate) to the
Grid (gLite).

You can then use any WS created with the API.

2. The API allows you to develop an application which submits jobs to
the Grid. It handles authentication in a friendly way.

This plugin does not allow you to submit Grid jobs from within Taverna. It does
allow a programmer to develop a service which makes use of the Grid. Then such
a service can be used, like (almost like) a normal WS in Taverna. The Taverna
user can therefore be grid agnostic, except that he/she needs to have a
certificate.

The plugin and API were implemented by Richard Holland from Eagle Genomics.

Some documentation can be found here:
https://grid.sara.nl/wiki/index.php/TavernaGrid

The documents will lead you to the location of the plugin.

If you want to know more please feel free to contact me.

Cheers,

Machiel
