I think the issue is more focused on developers rather than users. Currently, 
if a Taverna developer wants to use some Java feature or API available only for 
Java 1.6, (s)he cannot. I guess it is not a problem in 95% of cases, because 
there are usually alternatives, but in some cases the developer who is 
concerned on compatibility cannot use newer libraries.
