I wrote the local UI services, primarily as a way to allow people to easily supply values to a workflow. The presumption is that the workflow will only be run on the desktop. It uses some of the basic Swing dialogs to get user input. "Ask" asks a question and waits for input. "Choose" lets you choose between several values. "Select" uses a select box to present a list of values and lets the user select one of the values. "Tell" let's you tell a user that something has occurred. "Warn" presents a slightly more ominous version of the dialog.
