I'm currently investigating using the external tool activity (previously 
known as UseCase) to call Perl.  If that works as I expect it to, then 
we'll need to think about harmonizing any script activity with the 
external tool activity.  It would probably be sensible for them to be 
the same (or close friends) "under the hood", although they could still 
be exposed to users as separate concepts.
