Hi, This reminds me of something we have been thinking about lately in our project - our web services use restricted string lists in the WSDL to denote input ports and their possible values. This greatly supports error handling as well as aids in exposing the service through a portal (e.g. users can choose inputs from a drop down menu).
It would be very welcome if a mechanism could be implemented that enables the input splitter in Taverna to make use of this information upon building a workflow. Could that be related to your plans with regard to the issue at hand or are there currently any other ideas into that direction? It depends what you mean. If you want the user to be able to specify the default value then no - there is a Jira issue for that at http://www.mygrid.org.uk/dev/issues/browse/T2-619 . If your activity has built-in default values, then you will have to code the setting of them, i.e. put the default values into the Map of port -> value, when you execute the activity. > Thanks > Jane Alan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ taverna-hackers mailing list [email protected] Web site: http://www.taverna.org.uk Mailing lists: http://www.taverna.org.uk/about/contact-us/ Developers Guide: http://www.taverna.org.uk/developers/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nokia and AT&T present the 2010 Calling All Innovators-North America contest Create new apps & games for the Nokia N8 for consumers in U.S. and Canada $10 million total in prizes - $4M cash, 500 devices, nearly $6M in marketing Develop with Nokia Qt SDK, Web Runtime, or Java and Publish to Ovi Store http://p.sf.net/sfu/nokia-dev2dev _______________________________________________ taverna-hackers mailing list [email protected] Web site: http://www.taverna.org.uk Mailing lists: http://www.taverna.org.uk/about/contact-us/ Developers Guide: http://www.taverna.org.uk/developers/
