Hello, Some info on work being done for the next gen Taverna workbench...
Yesterday we carried out a short exercise to populate some workflow components in an early version of the Taverna workflow components library. 25 workflow components were contributed, with some metadata and information to describe how to use them. We will be gathering many more over the next few weeks. Once the components library is deployed into a production environmentwe will send out a link so everyone can take a look and contribute/comment. The plans are: Short term: - Hook this up into the next gen workbench (so it's searchable via the components palette). - Mine many more components from myExperiment, BioCatalogue, the old Shims library and other sources. - Make it much easier to point to existing myExperiment workflows and BioCatalogue services and "wrap" them as a component. (Note: myExp and BioCat will already be search sources in the next gen workbench). - Make the components library "live" and accessible to a wider audience (so anyone could potentially contribute components). Longer term: - Continue to curate existing components and start to form "component families". - Build a set of myGrid "approved" components that will ship with the next gen workbench.
