Thanks for the fast replies,

The W3C is  forcing everyone to use catalogs, but  some API/System have
easy to implement catalogues while other not so much.

My suggestion is for taverna (workbench+server) to have some sort of
catalog structure or for the user to have some sort of ability to
configure it, this could be a nice feature (Yes, I am asking for a
feature ticket in trac....), even if the feature is lacking, some sort
of reference in the Taverna documentation could be very useful.

In my case, I'll have to write some "dumb down" version of the WSDL
description of the services that I'm orchestrating, I am not please with
the situation but it will work until this W3C situation is properly
addressed (me being cynical ^_^)
