Hello again, I created a brief notice saying welcome to Taverna 2.3.0 so the warning about the notice should not appear anymore.
We will use the notice mechanism to notify people using Taverna of things like important service sites going down. The notice will only appear the first time Taverna starts, or when we change the notice. Previously, when, for example, BioMoby went offline or a major change was made in BioMart, we had no easy way of telling people and so received multiple questions about what was happening. More recently, we could have used it to inform people that we knew there was a problem with the myExperiment perspective login.
