Hello everyone.

I am writing because I am writing my thesis about orchestration of
geospatial (OGC) web services. For some time I was going through available
literature and I have become more and more interested in Taverna.

What I would like to do is to dynamically create a workflow consisting of
OGC web services, execute it and get results. Although, there are several
issues along the way. First of them is the fact that OGC web services (WPS,
WMS, WFS, SOS) are not described by WSDL. This is because of their nature.
There was one work done in this field by Plymouth Marine Laboratory, who
used WPS services with automatically generated WSDL. Then they have used
Taverna to make a workflow with such services. I was thinking about
developing plugins to give a native support for OGC services I need like
OpenGIS Sensor Observation Service. If I could develop those plugins, then
from what I have read, it would be possible to create workflows dynamically
using SCUFL language and executing them on Taverna server.

Is above scenario possible? Above all, is it possible to develop plugin to
make Taverna use OGC services like SOS, WMS or WFS (just like it now uses
BioMoby, BioMart and SoapLab services) without WSDL? I have spend only some
time on my research and I would like to avoid time wasted on problems I
could avoid.

Sorry for my language and thank you for your answer :)

Regards,
Dawid
