> Subject: [Taverna-users] Oversized output

> Dear Taverna Team,

Hello (from one of the team)

> I was trying out a new web service and I have been too generous on my
> input parameters. The result was a large (6MB) xml text output which
> Taverna displayed dutifully. But as soon as I try any interaction with
> that output Taverna sort of freezes and does not recover.

It shouldn't freeze. I'll ask someone to look at profiling what is
happening.

> Would it not be better not to display the output if it is too large for
> interaction, but still give the user the option to save the file. That
> at least would allow the user to continue to work (e.g. save the
> workflow). Just a suggestion.

I agree. I've created an entry in our bug tracking system -
http://www.mygrid.org.uk/dev/issues/browse/T2-897. I've provisionally
scheduled it to be fixed in Taverna 2.1 but am not sure if that is
feasible.

> I attach the offending workflow, in case someone wants to see the
> phenomenon themselves.

Thanks,

> Best Regards,
