You may laugh but I once spend an hour before I was told someone
dropped water in a keyboard and as it was a linux system nobody could
log on, not even root.
As  it was all graphical and a special setup it took me a while before
I got to a nice black  non graphical screen and could see that
anything type had ^ in front so a password would never work...
Or like the one where the cursor started automatically moving thanks
to sprite....
That one was under dos so quite obviously what was happening!
