IMHO serial number in X-mailer is not a problem or even it's a good
 thing.
Btw as many user ask for a free serial number X-mailer i sugget a
solution: how's about a encrypted number?
It could be work like this:
 1) Every message generate a random number
 2) The serial number will be divided by the random number
 3) The "new" X-mailer will be the result of the operation and the
 random number encrypted.
If you use a "not-too-long" asymmetric key (e.g. 64 bit) to encrypt
the number you will have an X-mailer every time different that only
Rit Labs (that has the private key) can read.
I Know this is not so easy an probably not necessary, but could be
a good solution for the user and the programmer... dosn't it?
