I found it.
Last night someone mentioned the shortcut pointing to the improper
directory problem. So, I created a new shortcut and made sure the
"Start in" directory was a different directory. No dice.
After your message (and one other), I did a search for Bat! in the
Registry. I found the "Home Directory," which was set to the Desktop.
Changed it, and now it works! Woo hoo!
Thanks, everyone, for the help! I have a few more comments about Bat!.
I'll post them in a different letter, though.
