Hello

Having just spent 2 days in a corporate meeting (yawn) discussing the
impact of digital signatures on e-commerce etc, I thought I'd raise a
few ideas:

-) With digital signatures (S/MIME and x509.3 certificates) people and
systems can be pretty sure that you are who you say you are. Therefore
information being transferred by e-mail can be checked rather better.
These certificates are to be held in centralised Corporate directories
(LDAP enabled) - Will TB! be able to use this technology - i.e.
automatically get someones public key from a corporate LDAP server?

-) Classification of e-mails: 2 e-mail headers that are thought
necessary are

--) 'Sensitivity' (e.g. Public, Company confidential,Restricted access
and 'Top secret'). 'Top secret' information will never be e-mailed
anywhere - and will be blocked by the gateways /servers. Restricted
and above will always be encrypted (automatically)

--) Retention (Official, administrative etc) This enables automated
e-mail retention based on content rather than age of message. Again -
I don't believe that TB! can handle these either (Outlook/Exchange can
at least handle the sensitivity flags)

Now our organisation is huge and not bleeding edge - so if we are
putting infrastructure in place to do these things - I'm sure that
others are too. Should TB! include this functionality - and if so -
how could it be 'customised' to a corporation requirements?

Just a discussion point for version 2

regards,
 Graham
