before going on this trip, check with him if he is alone, or if there
is a *second* person to certify you, in the same moment. I am in the
process to become a notary here in Sao Paulo, Brazil (there is *none*
in this country), and I've learned that I will have to follow a
considerable amount of paperwork, and I'll have to deliver papers to
two lawyers, who will be contacted later by Thawte.
After all this, I will get 100 points from Thawte and will be able to
act as a notary here. But, a notary is able to give only 35 points to
another person. To be able to place your name in the certificate
(replacing the "Freemail Member"), you will need at least 50 points at
your Thawte account. This means that only one notary will not be
enough to increase your certificate, you need *two*. If you can get a
third notary, you will be able to act as a notary by yourself, because
you will have the 100 points needed.
