I found the culprit in my case: there is an Exchange Server along the
winding road to my mailbox (no, the POP mailbox itself is on another
machine), which strips selectively some attachments (and let's a
fingerprint in the mail: it changes the X-Mailer header. I was already
wondering, why all the people on tbbeta, even Maxim, habe begun using
Internet Mail Service...)
