The MTA, not the ISP nor the MUA do the trick.
Less cryptic: In the settings of every good mail transport agent (MTA,
the software that handles and dispatches mail on a user's mail server)
a default domain can be set for incomplete addresses.
Having a default domain setting in The Bat! (a MUA, mail user agent)
is something completely different. It could be that the user wants a
different default domain than what is set up for the MTA.
I don't mean to say that I would need that option, I just wanted to
point out the differences.
