That's the way I understand it. So let's see whether the next beta

why would you loose any config settings? Did you every before when you
downloaded are new release version, or beta version for that matter?

Correct, and you can just install it on top of the existing install or
beta. As usual.

That's true. This last series was difficult to test, like we didn't
know what to test.
