The only time I find it *extremely* annoying is when I reply to
someone who's posted a long snippet of code on a programming oriented
lists. Sometimes it makes it pretty hard to follow.
In that situation, I tend to Alt+Ins to insert the whole clipboard as
"quoted" then break it up manually.
But, I too would like to see an option for both. I asked about this a
month or so ago I believe.
