I confirm that I cannot confirm this. Clicking on one message after
having selected "many" will indeed unselect "many", and only the one
last clicked is selected.

I did this, and Win98 didn't hang. Instead, after well over ten, maybe
twenty, messages were opened, TB crashed (not Windows) and it was
reported that THEBAT caused a GPF in module "unkown" at 0000:02aa6e1d.
(What does TB do in 0000: anyway?)
I hit the C button, what choice did I have, thus closing TB. Then I
restarted TB, and no problem; no need to even restart Windows.

If he hits NO, it means he doesn't know what he's doing, so the
command will be cancelled. If he hits YES, he knows what he is doing,
so a pop-up window should say "Crashing System" with an OK? button to
hit. A cancel button will not be necessary, as that would be boring.

While I have never mistakenly opened "too many" messages, I do agree
that the process should be cancelable, very much like purge, where
this option is also missing.
