Unlikely. ;-) After you gruadate, you have a new job to grow into, all
kinds of new resposibilities... Beliebe me, as a student you have more
time on your hands than you will ever have afterwards. If you are
lucky enough to find a job, which in your case I don't doubt. :-)

Unfortunately, if I were them, I would certainly treat this as a
company secret, even though download figures are published by some
sites. Nobody publishes registration figures.

If they have to rewrite code, it wouldn't be called "portable". You
would be writing a second app with the same functionality - and
similar GUI - for the other platform.
The idea of portability is that you can use the same code and just
recompile it. Of course, you are right, and in practice you always
have to rewrite a little bit, but not to the extent you describe.

No. It would not be feasible, that's all. The idea is to code v2 so
that it can be compiled for both windows and *nx, instead of having to
write seperate modules for the two platforms.
ML> Heck, even my VBA codes which are no more than a few hundred lines

I wouldn't know about that. I believe it's substantially different
from Delphi code and Windows vs *nx.
ML> As said, I myself would like the porting to happen. I just feel it's

I don't thnk they will do that, but if there is a *nx version, support
for the *nx users will be necessary thus a *nx specialist. The worst
that can happen is that they say, "here is TB compiled for *nx, get
happy" but they don't participate in the Mialing List which will be
spontantaneously creating by someone. I think they will indeed read
it, beause if you write a program and people make a mailing list about
it, believe me, you will read it.
So, if the Delphi code they are writing for v2 is portable, I believe
it will be ported. If too much code has to be rewritten, it would not
be portable. ;-)
