At Friday, January 26, 2001, 3:01:58 PM, Wolfgang jotted down that:
WK> What I would prefer (and have asked for several times):
WK> import/export filters to/from a .ini-like text file.
And I'd be even more happy if it looked yet another way.
All the filters, as they are now (in the filter-tree) are remembered somewhere
in a record-type way (Move To: TBBETA, Mark As: UNREAD, Change Colour Group:
GREEN, blah blah)...
Wouldn't it be nice, if The Bat! supported TWO methods of working with filters?
One that would look just like it does now (tree structure, options, checkboxes,
...) and one that would involve a simple decision-based language, like:
IF subject CONTAINS "earn money" {
MOVE TO /Trash
MARK AS Read
}
IF sender CONTAINS "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" {
IF subject IS "Get back to work!!" {
AUTOREPLY C:/MAIL/yes_boss.txt
// kiss my ass, sucker. :P
} ELSE {
MARK AS HighPriority
MOVE TO /Important
}
}
As a side effect, it would (1) solve all the search-and-replace tasks, and (2)
it would be easy to make Bat! use this kind of script internally, thus creating
similar scripts when the users create their filters by the "Wizard" dialog.
Max, how about it?
... oh well... When was the last time that anyone from RIT Labs commented on
ANY "suggested feature"..? Even if THIS one would make The Bat! jet right
ahead of any other mailprograms?.. ... I guess RITs are just being lazy, or
something. *shrug*
