That's exactly what puzzles me: the headers look fine after
download. I'll include two examples (one from NY Times and one from
Opera-l) at the end of this message for you to check.

There're some other interesting observations I made during my tests.

1. CUNY (for Opera-l) listserver provides several different header
styles to choose from. The default is "Normal LISTSERV-style
header". After changing the header style to "sendmail-style", the
problem disappears. For me personally, that solves the problem
nicely, though I still think there's probably a bug in TB, which
I'll elaborate below.

2. NY Times offer no header choices, but it offers two subscription
mode--html and text. I've always used the text mode, of course.
Changing to html mode, however, also solves the problem, though it
causes headache reading the newsletters.

3. Contrary to what I've always thought, the problem doesn't happen
to all the email servers I use. The same messages appear fine in the
mail dispatcher when connecting to my main university account. (For
those who didn't pay attention to my recent rumbling: I could no
longer use my university account effectively, and that's why I'm
trying out so many alternative email services.) So far I've
confirmed the same problem on Yahoo mail (when using POP3, the web
mail appears fine), @home, mailandnews.com, and usa.net. I don't
know if they happen to use the same server software.

4. For the Opera-l mailing list, even when subscribing with the
"Normal LISTSERV-style header", not every message from the list
would show the same problem. So far all the NY Times newsletters
have shown the same problem, but I get only a handful of them each
day, so the samples are few (I began systematic observation only
since yesterday.)

So far all signs point to sources outside of TB. Yet the following
observations suggest still there might be a bug in TB.

1. The same messages look absolutely fine in the message list pane
(either main window or folder view window) after download, with all
the fields showing complete information.

2. The headers of those messages look normal as well, except there
are sometimes extra spaces between a header field label and its
content.

3. The only other email client (that I know) with mail dispatcher
function doesn't suffer from the same problem.

4. Logs from manual POP3 sessions (using telnet) show no sign
(again, to untrained eyes) of problem. (I use TOP command to get the
headers, and they appear fine.)

Pardon me for including some graphics to this message. I use two
separate @Home accounts to subscribe to the same mailing list and
newsletter.

TB1.png is a screen shot of account 1, which subscribes to opera-l
using the default "Normal LISTSERV-style header", and to NY Times in
html mode. As you can see, both no. 2 and 3 are from the opera-l
list, but no.3's "To" field is empty. No.4 is from NY Times, and
it's correct. I'll talk about No.1 later.

TB2.png is a shot of account 2, which subscribes to opera-l using
the "sendmail-style" header, and to NY Times in html mode. The shot
is showing the same 4 messages, and you can see both no.2 and no.3
are showing complete header informations. Please note that no.2's
"To" field appears different from the one in TB1.png, which is an
honest difference between the two header styles (normal vs. sendmail
style). No.4 is without "To" field.

No.1 is missing the "To" information in both graphics. It's a
subscription confirmation request, similar to the one you get when
signing up TBBETA. There's no header style to choose for this
confirmation reuqest. ;-) I'll be extremely grateful if some of you
may try it out by going to
<http://listserv.cuny.edu/Scripts/wa.exe?SUBED1=opera-l&A=1> and
subscribe to opera-l (you don't have to give out any personal
information there, and you may subscribe with a fictional name). You
should get a confirmation request right away, which you can ignore.
Now see if you can see the "To" field in your mail dispatcher.

TB1a.png and TB2a.png show the message list pane of account 1 and 2
respectively, with the same four messages in TB, after download. All
fields are complete, as you can see.

One last words before I give you the headers: it's getting academic
now since I can work around some of the problem or ignore it (after
all, they're all fine after download). I'm merely pursuing it as a
potential bug for RIT to kill. Thanks for all who are following me,
and I apologize to those who got bored. (I guess that's moot since
they probably have given up before going this deep.)

Now, the headers:
