gave that a try (IMAP box), result: message to be sent is not sent but only stored in "Drafts" folder, dialog not disappearing at all. Pushing "save" did save also, but dialog still not disappearing. "Cancel" brought editing window back, as expected - but not closing the dialog window on sending and not sending the mail is not a way it should work. Went back to working 4.2.44 therefore, as a mail program not sending mail is useless.
