It means literally: "now follows an Uuencoded block".

I've forgotten most about the backgrounds but I still remember
Uuencoding is one of the first (perhaps even the first) methods to
convert binary data into text (and back). If you want to know more

In any case Uuencode and MIME are completely different things. I don't
know the the exact cause of this specific Beta! problem, but I suspect
it's The Beta!'s inability to recognize _inline_ Uuencoded text.

I use Forte Agent. In Agent one has the choice how to handle binary
"text". MIME or Uuencoded. Inside the message text body or as an
attachment. Which means Agent has no trouble whatsover recognizing
Uuncoding in Usenet AND email messages.
