>I wonder where this "begin 644" comes from. It means literally: "now follows an Uuencoded block". I've forgotten most about the backgrounds but I still remember Uuencoding is one of the first (perhaps even the first) methods to convert binary data into text (and back). If you want to know more about it see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uuencode In any case Uuencode and MIME are completely different things. I don't know the the exact cause of this specific Beta! problem, but I suspect it's The Beta!'s inability to recognize _inline_ Uuencoded text. I use Forte Agent. In Agent one has the choice how to handle binary "text". MIME or Uuencoded. Inside the message text body or as an attachment. Which means Agent has no trouble whatsover recognizing Uuncoding in Usenet AND email messages.
