I would like to second this. The current address book has many good
options, but was created in a time when people did not need or
extensively used synchronization of their address book to mobile
devices.

I would much like to be relieved of the task of manually updating my TB!
address book whenever I make changes to my (work-related) Outlook one
which I synchronize to GMail using gSyncIt.

This would also be a good time to expand the functionality of the
address book with custom fields (instead of being forced to do ini-style
things in the memo field) and a pet peeve of mine: allow entry of birth
date without the year for people where you don't know the year and
automatically display the age for people with a year.
