Hi,

since updating to v5.0.36.2 I'm getting an error message for every
outgoing email:

!16.03.2012, 10:36:25: SEND - The message to xxx is sent but could not be moved
from Outbox to the Sent
folder. The message is parked in the Outbox

The message is in fact incorrect, the message has been moved
successfully.

I have noticed that the "send task" in Connection Center stays active
for a long time before any actual communication is going on. According to
the log, a connection to the server using IPv6 is tried first:

16.03.2012, 10:36:03: SEND - Connecting to SMTP xxx on port 465
 16.03.2012, 10:36:24: SEND - Couldn't connect to [IPv6-address] trying
subsequent addresses...
 16.03.2012, 10:36:24: SEND - Connecting to [IPv4-address]...
 16.03.2012, 10:36:24: SEND - Initiating TLS handshake

Thus, the "sending" action takes a long time before it is completed,
thus the message is still "handled", thus it can't be moved, thus the
error message. How's that for a theory?

What doesn't quite fit is the timestamp of the logentries. Note that
the error message is timestamped at x:25 seconds, while the connection
succeeds at an x:24 seconds timestamp. However, when moment the error
is detected and the one it is displayed might be two different things
entirely.

If this reasoning proves to be accurate, the solution should be
simple: Postpone the action "move from outbox to sent folder" until
the action "smtp-send message from outbox" has completed.

As a seperate issue, there should be a setting to "Do not use IPv6 in
any case" to begin with. The fact that the machine is connected to a
IPv6 router does not mean that an external IPv6 machine can be
contacted, and it definitly shouldn't be taken for granted.

Regards,
AS
