I hope i described it right.

A) Use Windows API for SSL certificates
   The Bat! Options → S/MIME and TLS…
   (•) Microsoft Crypto API
   OK
   Close The Bat!
   Start certmgr.msc
   Import your self-signed certificate to "Treusted Root CA certificates"

or

B) Use The Bat! Adressbook for self-signed cert
   The Bat! Options → S/MIME and TLS…
   (•) Internal Implementation (The Bat! Adressbook)
   OK
   Open Adress book
   View → Certificate Address Books
   Select Trusted Root CA
   Add a contact to addressbook
   Set Name to your local domain
   Select tab Certificates
   Import your certifcate
   Confirm with OK

Now the certificate should work.
