You can edit the settings of the colour group. 
Options | Preferences | Colour Groups
Click on the colour group you want to edit
Click Edit
On the General tab, you can pick font name and scaling
On the Colours & Styles tab you can pick style, font colour, background colour. 
You set them independently for normal, unread, selected, etc. So it's up to you 
whether the unread colour is the same or different.

If a folder in the tree has a colour group set for it, the colour group's 
styling should be seen on that folder name in the tree.

that colour group to have that specific styling for unread. At least, it works 
like that foe me.
