No worries.

My server is slow on the uptake when sending out messages.  

The challenge is when I pick an email, select redirect, all of a sudden my out 
box starts to fill up with old messages using the new redirect email address.

It is a bit mess and I cannot figure why that is happening.

At this point, I don't use the redirect to eliminate the problem.
