Hello, Thomas! T> In addition to that, in the combo box for the extensions in the T> Windows file dialog when trying to attach a file, there are often T> random characters at the end of the choices; sometimes a blank lin T> somewhere in between. This is not reliably reproducable but might T> give a hint. I noticed such behaviour when the LNG file was out of date (though it was in another dialog with file types taken not from Windows registered types but from TB LNG file string). Try removing (renaming) the LNG file, restart TB and see if this cures the problem. Another cause could be corrupted registry (especially the part containing the file types). To check this run regedit, export the whole registry to a REG file. If this went Ok, create a backup copy of SYSTEM.DAT USER.DAT files from your Windows directory (these are files where the registry is kept), reboot to the MSDOS prompt and type "regedit /c <filename.REG>" where <filename.REG> is the name of the REG file created in Step 1. This command will recreate the registry from the REG file. It's a good practice to do such recreation once a year, especially if you use a lot of software that writes to the registry and\or often deletes registry keys - this will defragment and delete unused space from the DAT files, hence speed up the registry operations. -- Best regards, | The Bat! 1.53 Beta/8/iKey1000 S/N 14BA1-6DEC1 Andrew | Russian Windows 98 4.10 Build 2222 A http://www.mml.nsi.ru/~alovetski/ - small (two languages only) LNG files + LNG file manipulation utility (with sources) to create custom LNG files! -- ______________________________________________________ Archives : <http://tbbeta.thebat.dutaint.com> Moderators : <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> You are subscribed as : [email protected]
