I believe that I have come across this problem several times.  I
always attributed it to the fact that whomever sent me the message in
HTML format did not also send it as text.  In other words, I believe
that most mailers that allow you to create HTML messages ask you if
you also want to send it as TEXT.

Does this sound reasonable to anyone?
