God help us -- this looks like the armageddon. I always feared one day
there would come a Bat version that would start eliminating previously
vital functionality.

Are we now supposed to transfer all of our current first-level folders
into a sub-folder level?!

This is a tragedy, if it's not oversight but an effect intended by Bat
developers.

Another instance of previously useful functionality that has been
eliminated in the last few versions is that, when previously an
account couldn't log onto the server, the Log Panel used to say "Could
not connect to the server" -- today it always says "Connection
finished, O new messages", even when no connection came about. You
need to hit CTRL+SHIFT+A every time in order to check manually whether
there actually was a successful connection to the server.

How come RITlabs don't remove these bugs? And instead, they are
removing previously vital functionality?

Top-level folder templates are *absolutely essential*.

To Marck Pearlstone: address book templates aren't enough to replace
folder-level templates, because I use folder-level templates to create
templates in the six languages that I correspond in. There's no way,
to my knowledge, to accomplish creating multi-lingual message
templates using address book templates -- especially because I often
correspond in various languages with the same person.
