Hello The Bat! developers,
I'm using The Bat! Version 1.54 Beta/4
Serial Number 47C58D3D
under Windows NT 5.0 Build 2195
and would like to report a bug
The bug description:
New Beta-Series (at least checked with Beta/4) is incompatible in storing
account preferences with last stable (1.53 -> checked with 1.53l).
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Have a look at setting in "Account" / "Properties" / "Transport" and "Mail
Management" within Beta/4
- Delivery (Immediately / Deferred)
- Message Management (Delete received / Leave messages on server)
Remember them. Shout down Beta/4, start 1.53 (I used 'l' as I've no 'o'
installed on this system) and have a look at the same settings:
They're switched to default values: 'Immediately' and 'Delete messages'. I
set them to my preferences of 'Deferred delivery' and 'Keep messages',
'OK'ed and close 1.53l. Started 1.54 Beta/4 and they're set to
'Immediately' and 'Delete' again. SImple restarting Beta/4 after changing
them again did not change the settings, so it's an incompatibility between
1.53l and Beta/4 :-(
I don't think this is a quiet good behavior and it explains what Dierk
already quoted to the list: loosing of several settings.
Sorry Dierk it took me so much time to do a research on this issue But I
never came to the idea it could be something _really general_ like
incompatible storage as it did not happend when switching from 1.53l to
Beta/3 to Beta/4 ... seems Beta/3 silently 'converted' the setting :-)
