Stupidly, I'm answering myself. Yes it does search/navigate
for/thru the *menu* & allows you to jump to a function.
So if you searched for 'template' & then press 'do it', the
template dialogue appears. However, if you were to search for
"macros" (which are not in the menu per se), you would have to
search for 'help' then 'do it' which puts you into the Help
'find" index & you're ready to search the help menu. I haven't
counted but I guess this goody could save a couple of steps.
